About

About SOLO

SOLO is RedZone Robotics’ tracked crawler for autonomous inspection of small-diameter sewers. Front and rear pano-spheric cameras are stitched into a 360-degree video record that reviewers can pan, tilt and zoom after collection. The portable robot enters through a 200-millimetre access and works in pipes from 200 to 300 millimetres without a winch or vehicle-mounted CCTV rig.

A typical deployment takes 10–15 minutes from site arrival to closing the manhole. Onboard sensing guides the robot along the pipe; when it encounters an obstruction it makes three attempts to pass before returning to the launch point. Crews can deploy squads of up to four units, and RedZone attributes roughly 4,500 feet of daily inspection to a crew using multiple robots—not to one SOLO unit. The platform launched in 2009 and remains commercially supported for small-diameter collection-system assessment.
