About Rheinmetall GOAT

GOAT is American Rheinmetall's Ground Optionally Autonomous Transport prototype for the U.S. Army. The wheeled unmanned ground vehicle is intended to carry supplies and equipment across rugged terrain, reducing the load on dismounted forces and extending logistics support into hazardous operating areas.

American Rheinmetall is one of two competitors in the Army programme. The company described an eight-vehicle prototype build for comparative testing and evaluation before any production down-select. GOAT therefore remains a development programme rather than a generally orderable commercial vehicle, with the exact production configuration still subject to Army testing and down-selection.
