About SG-1 Fathom
SG-1 Fathom is an autonomous underwater glider designed for persistent acoustic surveillance. The vehicle can move through the water column or settle on the seabed, conserving energy while listening through its sensor payload. Lura processes acoustic information onboard, classifies relevant contacts and transmits only selected results.
Helsing intends SG-1 units to operate as constellations across large maritime areas, with one team supervising many vehicles through the Lura mission platform. Lean launch and recovery allows deployment from commercial or military vessels without a specialist submarine tender. The gliders are being designed for scalable production in Helsing’s resilience factories and for applications including subsurface surveillance and protection of critical undersea infrastructure.
