Tacta Sensor
About
About Tacta Sensor
Tacta Sensor is designed to fit within human-scale robotic fingertips and measure several dimensions of contact. Its sensing stack detects applied force, the location and shape of contact, incipient slip, texture and temperature. These signals give the controller information that cameras cannot provide once the fingers touch or partially obscure an object.
Tacta integrates the modules throughout Tacta Hand and uses the same sensor family in Tacta Glove. During manipulation, the output lets Dexterous AI adjust grip, align parts and recognise whether an insertion or connection has succeeded. The sensor is part of Tacta’s newly introduced dexterous-manipulation stack and remains an early component product.
