About
About Armatrix
Armatrix develops articulated robotic arms for inspection and process work inside confined or difficult-to-access structures. Its modular architecture places motors and drive equipment outside the working arm, reducing the size and mass of the sections entering tanks, pipes, ship compartments and other enclosed spaces. Interchangeable end effectors support visual inspection, coating, welding and maintenance tasks.
The company configures arm length, articulation and tooling around the customer environment and operating process. Target sectors include shipbuilding, nuclear facilities, aerospace, oil and gas, and heavy industry. Armatrix supplies the robotic mechanism, control system and application engineering needed to position tools inside areas where conventional industrial arms or direct human access are impractical.

Armatrix raised $2.1M in a funding round led by pi Ventures, with participation from multiple early-stage investors. The company is developing hyper-redundant, snake-like robotic arms designed to operate inside hazardous and confined industrial environments. Funding will support transition from prototype to pilot deployments across sectors like oil & gas, nuclear, and industrial infrastructure.
Source - 2023-11-29 - Award - Armatrix receives gradCapital Atomic Fellowship to begin early hardware development
Armatrix says the gradCapital Atomic Fellowship awarded the founding team a $5,000 grant on November 29, 2023, giving the company its first external non-dilutive backing. The funding was used to buy an initial 3D printer for rapid prototyping and to extend runway while the founders built early proof-of-concept hardware. The company describes the fellowship as the first outside validation that helped move the project from award-winning student research into a full startup path.
