CubeMars is the robotics power-system brand operated by Nanchang Kude Intelligent Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nanchang Sanrui Intelligent Technology, which was established in 2009. The CubeMars brand dates to 2018 and designs motors and motion modules in Nanchang, including integrated planetary actuators, quasi-direct-drive units, frameless torque motors, gimbal motors and underwater propulsion hardware.
Its components serve humanoids, quadrupeds, exoskeletons, robot arms, inspection machines and unmanned vehicles. Integrated actuator families combine a brushless motor, reduction stage, encoder and drive electronics, while frameless RI and RO motors support builders that package their own joints. Public customer-system evidence includes MenteeBot shoulder actuation and RI80 motors in Crest Robotics' Gorilla MK1 transmission-line puller. CubeMars reports in-house research and manufacturing, annual motor output of six million units and more than 100,000 planetary joint modules produced annually.

The evaluation compared the 10:1 and 36:1 reduction configurations under hands-on control. The rig transmitted motion and force feedback across three coupled axes. The test examined dual-encoder behaviour, backdrivability and compliant teleoperation response.

The project targets pest, disease and nutrient observations beneath tall-crop canopies that aerial platforms cannot directly inspect. The robot is designed to carry sensing payloads while traversing mud, furrows, weeds and uneven field terrain. The disclosed demonstration shows under-canopy navigation and obstacle traversal in a crop environment.

The Georgia Tech-led project, with Stanford and the University of Pennsylvania, used AK80-9 KV100 actuators in its lower-limb exoskeleton. The system estimated gait phase, detected slopes and switched assistance strategies across level ground, inclines, stairs and descents. The research appeared in Science Advances; CubeMars separately said it was collaborating with the team on next-generation integrated actuator modules.

CubeMars presented the AKH Series at the China Conference on Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Intelligence on April 15, 2025. The module uses a through-hollow structure for internal cable and pipeline routing and a three-stage reduction system that CubeMars says increases torque by 30%. Built-in temperature and Hall sensors provide status monitoring and fault warnings for humanoid and collaborative robot joint applications.

Crest Robotics developed Gorilla MK1, while Transgrid took delivery of two units for trials with its maintenance partner Zinfra. Four CubeMars RI80 V2.0 frameless motors drive the robot's bogie chassis for travel on transmission conductors. The field configuration was designed to climb inclines and move equipment along high-voltage lines while keeping workers off the conductor.

CubeMars said it would support Binghamton University's robotics team as the team prepared its 2024 rover for the University Rover Challenge.
