About Parallel Systems
Parallel Systems develops rail freight vehicles that carry standard shipping containers and connect with existing terminal lifting equipment. Its battery-electric architecture is designed for shorter, more flexible movements than conventional long freight consists, with vehicles travelling individually or together as platoons.
The software integrates with railroad train-control and business systems, sharing vehicle position, condition and mission data. Onboard monitoring supports maintenance planning, while each vehicle has its own braking system and sensors for observing the track ahead. Parallel’s commercial proposition combines these vehicles with fleet software so railroads can serve lower-volume routes and sites closer to shippers using existing rail infrastructure.
