About HyperSpectral Corp
HyperSpectral's CortX architecture places a software layer over spectral instruments, translating their measurements into information about a sample's composition and state. Its hardware abstraction layer is designed to accommodate different sensing methods, including Raman, infrared, fluorescence and mass spectrometry. This lets the company build domain-specific applications around existing measurement equipment.
The offering spans pre-built inspection applications, research access to its spectral foundation model and collaborative model development. The latter covers feasibility work, experiment design, data collection and deployment into a customer's workflow. Foundation-model access is currently offered on a pre-release basis to qualified researchers and institutions, while application development targets areas such as food quality, biomanufacturing and material inspection.

Donofrio is responsible for product development and validation across biotechnology, industrial microbiology and public-health applications. The appointment followed HyperSpectral's combined $15.5 million Series A-1 and Series A-2 financing.

HyperSpectral said the capital would accelerate development, expand partnerships and prepare the company for a Series B.
