GA-ASI and Fujitsu signed an MOU to examine domestic Japanese maintenance and operational-support capability for the MQ-9B uncrewed aircraft.

The MOU positions domestic maintenance capability ahead of Japan's planned MQ-9B fleet, while remaining an evaluation framework rather than an awarded support contract.

  • The proposed framework covers avionics maintenance, parts management, maintenance training and field-support services in Japan.
  • The companies will also evaluate mission-system integration, design, manufacturing, testing and related technical collaboration.
  • The agreement is an exploration and capability-building MOU rather than a completed maintenance or production contract.
