About Quartermaster
Quartermaster operates a distributed maritime sensing network built around SmartMast, a vessel-mounted package combining cameras, satellite communications, power, onboard computing, cabling and a display. The system can be installed on vessels above 20 gross tons with a mast or superstructure, turning commercial ships into mobile data-collection nodes.
The network supports maritime-domain awareness for governments, shipping companies, insurers and autonomy developers. By September 2026, more than 650 vessels in 25 countries carried the system and Quartermaster had shipped over 800 units. The company is expanding fleet-level deployments and manufacturing capacity as customers move beyond individual-vessel installations.
