About Seasats

Seasats’ Lightfish is a solar-electric autonomous surface vessel for persistent ocean sensing. The 11.4-foot craft combines solar generation, a small auxiliary generator and a 4 kWh battery with a composite hull and retractable keel. It cruises at roughly 2 knots, can reach 4.5 knots and is designed for multi-month missions covering more than 6,000 nautical miles while carrying customer-selected sensors.

A library of more than 50 payload integrations supports hydrographic survey, acoustic monitoring, environmental science, communications and defence missions. Operators plan and monitor deployments remotely, while onboard autonomy handles navigation and vessel health over long periods and through intermittent connectivity. The wider Seasats range includes smaller Quickfish and larger Heavyfish systems, allowing customers to choose endurance and payload capacity around the mission. Lightfish is portable enough for deployment without major ship infrastructure and interoperates with external command-and-control systems as one node in a distributed maritime network.
