About Applied Aeronautics
Albatross is a modular electric fixed-wing aircraft with endurance reaching four hours, range up to 200 kilometres and payload capacity of approximately 9.5 pounds. Autonomous waypoint flight and efficient wingborne operation support mapping, surveillance, communications and environmental-monitoring missions over larger areas than a typical multirotor.
Applied Aeronautics supplies complete ready-to-fly systems, airframes and development kits. Customers can integrate cameras, multispectral sensors, communications equipment and other payloads within the modular bay, while the company provides autopilot, ground-control and application engineering around the finished aircraft.

- 2022-02-24 - Product Launch - Applied Aeronautics releases NDAA-compliant Albatross-US UAV
Applied Aeronautics released Albatross-US, an NDAA-compliant variant of its Albatross UAV platform. The variant replaced critical onboard avionics, GPS, command-and-control equipment and payloads with NDAA-compliant technology. The release positioned Albatross-US for defense applications including training, simulated warfare, surveillance, asset inspection and R&D.

Applied Aeronautics announced an Albatross BVLOS aircraft fully integrating Iris Automation Casia detect-and-avoid technology. The BVLOS model paired the Albatross long-endurance fixed-wing UAV with specialized communications, modular payloads and onboard collision-avoidance sensing. Applied said it would manufacture the Albatross BVLOS at a new composites facility in Austin, Texas.
