Apellix manufactures tethered industrial drones that place cleaning, coating or inspection tools directly against large structures while crews remain on the ground. Power and Soft Wash systems carry pressurised water or cleaning solution for facades, windows, roofs and solar arrays. Related platforms spray architectural and protective coatings or apply decontamination fluid in hazardous environments.

Onboard control can maintain stand-off distance, avoid collisions and land automatically during abnormal conditions, while the tether supplies fluid and continuous electrical power. Apellix has also developed contact-based inspection robots that autonomously take dry-film-thickness readings on tanks and other coated assets, returning measurement data to the operator. The systems are designed and manufactured in Jacksonville and replace portions of work otherwise requiring scaffolds, lifts or rope access.

  • 2026-05-28 - Deployment - Apellix spray-painting drone goes to work on infrastructure projects

    Apellix said state transportation departments, federal contractors and commercial coating companies had purchased and deployed the system on live projects. Reported work covered bridges, highway structures, government facilities, tanks, maritime structures, buildings and industrial assets. The system supported water-based, solvent-based and two-part coatings, with stated coverage up to 3,000 square feet per hour and an NDAA-compliant Blue variant.

  • 2025-09-10 - Product Launch - Apellix opens limited Spray-Painting Drone beta for coating contractors

    Apellix limited the beta to six advanced coating contractors, including AMPP QP1-certified firms or organizations with similar qualifications. The semi-autonomous system controlled standoff distance, perpendicular alignment, travel speed and paint activation during coating work. Apellix offered customer-site training, a year of hardware and software updates and direct engineering support while beta users supplied design feedback.
