About BYD
BYD is a Chinese manufacturer of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, batteries, electronics and rail-transit systems. Founded as a rechargeable-battery business in 1995, the group develops batteries, motors, power electronics and vehicle platforms, with automotive manufacturing conducted through BYD Auto. Its robotics and autonomy activity includes driver-assistance systems embedded in passenger vehicles, alongside automated production.
The God's Eye platform combines sensing, onboard computing and driving software for functions including intelligent parking and urban Navigate on Autopilot. In May 2026, BYD expanded its Chinese-market driving-assistance offering with a LiDAR-equipped option and the XUANJI A3 automotive processor. These functions operate within the vehicle's driver-assistance system. The broader vehicle architecture connects driving, cockpit and chassis control with software updates and operating data.
