About
About MicroVision
MicroVision develops lidar sensors, perception software and validation tools for automotive, industrial, security and defence systems.
Its portfolio includes MOVIA short- and mid-range sensors, IRIS and HALO long-range systems, aerial-perception software and the MOSAIK validation suite. Robot and vehicle developers integrate these products for mapping, obstacle sensing and environment modelling. MicroVision provides sensing and perception inputs; final navigation and machine control remain functions of the host autonomy stack.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-10-06 - Partnership - MicroVision and Robinson Unmanned agree aerial lidar demonstrations
The integration combines MOVIA Air Plus lidar with Robinson Unmanned's SPIRIT Group 1 aircraft. A Washington, D.C. showcase is planned for October 12–14, followed by customer evaluations through 2026. Camera and lidar data support mapping, localization and navigation without GPS.
Source - 2026-09-14 - Deployment - MicroVision IRIS enters an APAC autonomous-mobility pilot
Pilot vehicles integrate IRIS with cameras and radar in a multi-sensor perception architecture for real-time environmental awareness. IRIS supplies long-range 3D sensing for object detection and collision avoidance in higher-speed, low-light and nighttime conditions. The programme provides a migration path to MicroVision’s next-generation HALO sensor as the service advances toward broader commercial deployment.
Source - 2026-08-24 - Commercial Order - MicroVision receives orders for thousands of IRIS lidar sensors
Named application groups include off-road autonomy, industrial and material handling, logistics, robotics, security and defence, and other autonomous systems. MicroVision said multiple customers are moving from evaluation and validation toward broader deployment.
Source - 2026-08-06 - Market Signal - MicroVision reaches $1.5 million Q2 revenue and signs autonomous-hauling agreement
Revenue increased from $0.2 million a year earlier, while expected 2026 cash burn improved to approximately $60 million. The unnamed construction and mining OEM will use IRIS as a development bridge toward MicroVision’s HALO lidar architecture. The agreement expands MicroVision’s lidar work beyond road vehicles into heavy autonomous equipment for construction and mining.
Source - 2026-08-05 - Product Launch - MicroVision launches MOVIA Air lidar family for aerial autonomy
MOVIA Air combines a downward-facing solid-state lidar and RGB camera in a 400-gram package for near-range mapping and GNSS-denied operation. The expanded processing configuration adds video fusion, real-time 3D mapping, SLAM and autonomous docking functions. MicroVision positions the family for commercial and defence UAV integration rather than one proprietary aircraft platform.
Source - 2026-07-01 - Partnership - MicroVision appoints IDI Laser as Southeast Asia perception partner
IDI Laser will represent MicroVision lidar and perception solutions across six Southeast Asian and regional markets. The release names applications including industrial automation, critical infrastructure, security and autonomous systems. MicroVision says the companies are already supporting multiple customer engagements and evaluation programs.
Source - 2026-01-01 - Acquisition - Scantinel FMCW lidar assets transfer to MicroVision
Total purchase consideration was approximately $2.2 million, including operating funding advanced between signing and closing. The acquisition was negotiated during Scantinel's insolvency proceedings, with acquired technology valued at approximately $1.9 million in the preliminary allocation. The acquired business was consolidated from 1 January 2026 and recorded no revenue in the first quarter.
Source - 2026-05-07 - Partnership - MicroVision and Avular sign autonomous drone integration MoU
The May 7, 2026 MoU combines MicroVision lidar and perception software with Avular modular drone platforms. The companies plan a joint demonstration program for GPS-denied missions, 3D mapping, collision avoidance and safe launch and landing. Avular is responsible for drone system design, flight stack and autonomous navigation integration.
Source - 2026-04-22 - Production Milestone - MicroVision begins revenue-generating lidar shipments for industrial autonomy applications
MicroVision said revenue-generating shipments are underway across industrial autonomy applications. The company identified hauling, mining, and autonomous trucking as active industrial end markets. The release also said mining deployments represent production deployment rather than a pilot program, while hauling platforms are progressing through field validation toward scaled deployment.
Source - 2026-02-14 - Product Launch - MicroVision plans sub-$200 solid-state automotive lidar sensor
• MicroVision announced the development of a solid-state automotive lidar sensor with a target production price below $200. • The sensor was designed to provide 180-degree horizontal coverage and detect objects up to approximately 200 meters under favorable conditions. • The company stated the potential to further reduce the cost to $100 per unit in the future.
Source - 2023-01-31 - Acquisition - MicroVision completes selected Ibeo asset acquisition
The transaction closed on 31 January 2023. The acquired scope included lidar products, perception software and approximately 250 transferring employees. MicroVision accounted for the transaction as an asset acquisition.
Source - 2022-06-20 - Product Launch - MicroVision unveils MAVIN lidar product line
The launch introduced MAVIN as MicroVision's lidar sensor family. MAVIN DR combined short-, medium- and long-range sensing in one form factor. MicroVision positioned the product for high-speed highway ADAS and OEM vehicle integration.
