About Dynautics

Dynautics builds SPECTRE adaptive autopilots and vessel-control systems for surface and subsurface craft. Its Ship Sim software can pre-tune control behaviour before water trials, while the onboard control system interfaces with third-party propulsion, navigation, communications and payload equipment. The company also develops vehicle datalogging, dynamic-positioning and power-management modules.

HydroSurv selected a Dynautics autopilot for the battery-hybrid REAV-47 supplied to GOSL in Nigeria. The vessel uses HydroSurv's Virtual Watchkeeper control system for hydrographic and geophysical survey missions.

    The 3-metre modular vehicle can be configured around different payload requirements for offshore, oceanographic, defence and security missions. Dynautics used 3D modelling, digital twins and simulation to tailor the vehicle to customer requirements. Continuing sea trials are intended to combine imaging sonar for wide-area surveys with a high-resolution optical camera.
