About Factorial Energy
FEST uses a lithium-metal anode and proprietary electrolyte to increase energy density while retaining compatibility with much of the equipment used for conventional lithium-ion cell production. Factorial says approximately 80% of the manufacturing process can use existing production infrastructure, supporting a more practical transition into higher-energy cells.
Solstice moves further toward an all-solid-state architecture using a dry cathode process developed with Mercedes-Benz. Factorial is adapting the technology into aerospace and robotic battery packs as well as automotive cells, with UAV testing demonstrating how higher specific energy can translate directly into additional flight range.
