• 2026-09-25 - Product Launch - RT discloses NSK-backed inspection quadruped prototype

  The prototype is about 20 kg, measures roughly 900 × 400 × 500 mm while standing, and can carry up to 7 kg of equipment. The planned demonstration includes stair and slope traversal, autonomous patrol, and meter-reading workflows. RT is targeting a production-model launch around spring 2028; the current machine remains at prototype and validation stage.

• 2026-08-20 - Partnership - ATOM Humanoid and NSK sign humanoid-robotics MOU

  NSK actuators will be installed on ATOM Humanoid robots for joint evaluation, with results intended to improve performance and address mass-production challenges. The companies will collect physical-AI data using ATOM Humanoid robots in NSK manufacturing environments to improve ATOM's foundation model. ATOM Humanoid says it develops both a bipedal, dual-arm robot and its physical-AI foundation model in-house.

  The companies will integrate electronic, control and mechanical technologies around rotary and linear robot actuators. They agreed to cooperate on research, integrated design, system validation and prototypes. Future work will assess commercialization, global market deployment and sales strategies under separate agreements.

  The transaction used a third-party allotment of new shares and left NSK with more than one-third of RT voting rights. The companies agreed to pursue domestic quadruped robots and humanoid deployment in manufacturing. Their programme combines RT physical-AI and robotics capabilities with NSK motion, bearing and mechatronics technology.

• 2023-11-29 - Demonstration - NSK exhibits reconfigurable robotic-hand prototype at iREX 2023

  Individual finger modules could be rearranged to build the minimum hand configuration needed for a use case. German Aerospace Center wire-drive technology enabled smooth motion and gentle gripping of varied objects. NSK combined a detachable magnetic mechanism with a digital-twin algorithm for finger-placement optimization.

• 2015-04-16 - Demonstration - NSK completes real-world LIGHBOT guide-robot demonstrations

  The autonomous guide robot operated under conditions close to actual use with visually impaired participants and rehabilitation staff. NSK validated indoor navigation, obstacle avoidance, voice guidance and safer user-controlled speed and stopping. The revised robot added multi-floor localization, elevator use and longer battery endurance ahead of planned practical application.
