• 2026-08-26 - Demonstration - Gelion completes QinetiQ drone-mission battery validation

  QinetiQ applied a repeated mission profile of 6C take-off, 3C cruise and 6C landing across 50 cycles. The cells paired Gelion’s NES cathode with lithium-metal anodes and maintained stable voltage and power with limited degradation. The programme finished on time and budget and gives Gelion a validated basis for discussions with defence, aerospace and drone partners.

  The initial award covers two instructor crews and can expand to as many as 37 crews. Training covers pilots, sensor operators and mission intelligence coordinators for the MQ-9B and RAF Protector RG Mk.1. Inzpire instructors are embedded with 54 Squadron at RAF Waddington under the MQ-9B International Cooperative Partnership.

• 2020-11-11 - Production Milestone - QinetiQ and Pratt Miller deliver first RCV-L prototype to U.S. Army

  The first RCV-L reached GVSC at Selfridge Air National Guard Base on November 5, 2020. The hybrid-electric unmanned ground combat vehicle integrated QinetiQ robotic control systems with Pratt Miller EMAV vehicle technology. The vehicle was the first of four systems planned for the Army program.
