The upgrade adds a universal in-feed for standard 90-millimetre Petri dishes used in ISO-compliant laboratories and portable magazines holding up to 24 plates. A compressed-air lid-separation mechanism addresses stuck plates, while an on-device screen shows system status and classification outcomes in real time. Reshape states that the system can image and classify up to 450 Petri dishes per hour while preserving a digital audit trail for LIMS or ELN integration.

Reshape said the financing would support U.S. expansion and global hiring as it scaled robotic imaging and AI analysis for biological research. The company reported deployments with institutions including Syngenta and the University of Oxford and said its platform was saving more than 500,000 hours of manual work annually.
