About Medra
Medra combines an AI Experimentalist reasoning layer with Physical AI Lab robotic workcells to close the loop between experimental design and wet-lab execution. Scientists define a research objective, after which the platform reviews literature, plans experiments, operates instruments, records video and sample metadata, analyses results and adjusts subsequent protocols while preserving human control over the goal.
Its model-agnostic, multi-agent architecture can incorporate external scientific agents and prediction models, and computer vision monitors bench activity for recoverable errors. Partners can deploy a Physical AI Lab at their own facility or use Medra Lab 001 in San Francisco remotely. ML001 runs programmes in antibody discovery, protein engineering, gene editing, genomics and cell biology for biopharma, academic and government teams, including a DARPA-funded project.
