Cell X Technologies uses biological measurements to determine when automated culture operations should occur. Its Celligent platform measures cues such as confluency and colony size, then adapts weeding, picking, biopsying, media changes and passaging to the cells being processed. This approach targets variation during stem-cell reprogramming, differentiation and expansion.
Each action and decision produces annotations that feed the company's CxKnowledge data bank. Researchers can use those records to identify critical quality attributes and process parameters, and to plan Design of Experiments studies. Robotics therefore provides both the physical handling and a repeatable experimental record, connecting process development with the data needed to investigate reproducibility as cell-therapy programmes move toward manufacturing.

Cell X entered a seven-month programme offering up to $100,000 of funding, mentorship and robotics manufacturing resources. The company was selected for a robotics, imaging and machine-learning platform that automates regenerative-medicine processes. The cohort provided production facilities, tailored coaching and connections to robotics-industry partners.
