About Rowbot Systems
Rowbot develops compact machines that travel between crop rows after plants have grown too tall for conventional wide equipment to pass without damage. Its early platforms applied nitrogen fertiliser during the growing season and seeded cover crops beneath standing maize. RTK-GPS, field maps and onboard control guide the vehicle along the row, while the implement performs the selected agricultural operation.
Later prototypes use tracked mobility and modular payload areas for research, phenotyping and additional field tasks. The smaller footprint limits soil compaction and lets the robot enter conditions where a large tractor would be inefficient or unavailable. Rowbot has worked through commercial field services and research deployments, using remote intervention and safety supervision during autonomous work as part of a supervised commercial service.

- 2022-04-05 - Award - Rowbot secures NSF Phase I award for nitrogen robotics
Rowbot Systems secured a National Science Foundation Phase I SBIR award for in-season nitrogen application. The award supported combining field work with real-time data analysis. The project targeted better in-season nitrogen decisions for row-crop agriculture.
