About ALICE 5
ALICE 5 is AeiROBOT's full-size bipedal platform for humanoid research and development. It combines a human-scale body with articulated legs, seven-joint arms and six-degree-of-freedom hands. Open robot-description files give developers a basis for simulation and further work on locomotion, manipulation and coordinated whole-body behaviour.
The robot stands 1.7 metres tall, weighs 50 kilograms and has 43 degrees of freedom. Its three-joint waist adds upper-body movement, while a two-joint head supports sensing and interaction. An NVIDIA Jetson Thor computer processes input from stereo vision, an IMU and an FS module. ALICE 5 is a distinct platform within the ALICE range, alongside the earlier ALICE 4 and the wheeled ALICE M1, which use different body and computing configurations.
