MultiSense S7

About

About MultiSense S7

MultiSense S7 packages stereo imaging, onboard disparity processing and inertial sensing in a sealed unit for robotic perception. Its seven-centimetre camera baseline suits comparatively close working distances, while available modes trade image size against frame rate. A host receives monochrome or colour imagery, disparity and IMU data over Gigabit Ethernet through Carnegie Robotics' LibMultiSense interface. Hardware trigger and pulse-per-second connections support coordination with other sensors.

The enclosure is rated IP68 and the specification sheet lists an approximate mass of 1.15 kilograms. Full-rate streaming depends on host networking, driver performance and jumbo-frame configuration, and useful stereo depth still depends on scene texture, lighting, calibration and mounting stability. Carnegie Robotics classifies S7 as end-of-life and supports it through the legacy LibMultiSense implementation, so new integrations must account for the older firmware and software path.
