About Otter X USV
Otter X is a 4.6-metre electric catamaran powered by twin steerable 11-kilowatt thrusters. Two dry payload chambers support multibeam sonar, water-quality instruments, cameras, radar, acoustic equipment and customer-specific scientific payloads. The current published dry weight is under 1,000 kg, depending on payload integration.
Maritime Robotics' autonomy software follows planned survey routes and transmits sensor and vessel information through 5 GHz MIMO radio, Wi-Fi or LTE. The wide hull and shallow draft support bathymetric data collection in coastal and river environments. Surveillance configurations can add cameras, radar and SeaSight, while underwater-inspection configurations can deploy an ROV or carry sonar for pipelines, bridges and harbours.
