orcahand lite
About
About orcahand lite
orcahand lite is a compact nine-degree-of-freedom tendon-driven hand for grasping, demonstrations and introductory manipulation research. Coupled tendon paths reduce the number of actuators while preserving anthropomorphic finger motion across common pinching and enveloping grasps.
The hand mounts to robot arms through an ISO 9409 interface and connects to a host computer through USB. ORCA Dexterity publishes CAD, assembly instructions and controller software for modification and repair. The platform is designed for accessible open-source experimentation and lower-complexity integration.
