About
About orcahand
Seventeen articulated axes give the full-size OrcaHand an anthropomorphic finger layout driven through routed tendons and remotely positioned actuators. This arrangement keeps bulky drive hardware away from the digits while allowing varied grasps and tool contact. Distributed tactile sensing supplies contact measurements for teleoperation and learned-control experiments.
ORCA Dexterity releases the mechanical design, electronics, software and assembly instructions as open hardware. An ISO-compatible mounting arrangement supports attachment to suitable research arms, and the published stack can be modified for new sensors or control approaches. The platform is therefore aimed at laboratories building manipulation datasets, testing tactile policies or developing reproducible humanoid end effectors.
