About

About RoboTact

RoboTact embeds a 12-element capacitive array in robot fingers or grippers to measure contact location, pressure distribution, force, vibration and early slip. PPS offers 3.2 × 3.2 mm and 4 × 4 mm sensing elements, smooth or soft silicone finger-pad surfaces, and custom geometry for different end effectors.

The development kit combines up to four finger sensors with a hub using USB 2.0 or Bluetooth, demo software and a ROS 2 driver. The November 2025 technical table specifies a 100 Hz scan rate, 45 PSI full-scale pressure range, ±2 g acceleration range and I²C sensor interface.

Timeline

  • PPS demonstrates RoboTact with Tesollo at RobotWorld 2025

2025-11-05 - Demonstration - The demonstration paired three RoboTact sensors with Tesollo's DG-5F gripper. RoboTact measures contact force, pressure distribution, vibration and incipient slip. The event demonstrated robot-hand integration rather than announcing a separate product variant.
