X5 uses a wheel-legged quadruped layout to move through hazardous industrial sites that combine long travel routes with stairs, bunds, thresholds and uneven ground. QITEN pairs the mobile platform with an explosion-protected body, adaptive posture control and modular inspection sensing for oil, gas, chemical and comparable facilities.
The updated X5 was demonstrated at QITEN's September 2026 launch in Chongqing, where the company showed terrain traversal and posture adjustment. It belongs to QITEN's wider inspection system alongside remote supervision and fleet software. Company-wide deployment and operating-hour disclosures cover the full installed fleet and are not assigned to X5 as exact-product totals.
