About Skygauge

Skygauge uses a thrust-vectoring multirotor architecture that can press a tool against vertical, horizontal and curved surfaces while maintaining controlled flight. The contact mechanism supports ultrasonic wall-thickness measurements from different orientations, allowing technicians to inspect tanks, pipes, ship structures and industrial equipment without scaffolding or rope access.

Interchangeable tooling extends the platform into rust removal, surface preparation and coating touch-up. The operator remains on the ground and supervises contact through the flight and inspection interface, while captured measurements are linked to the relevant asset position. Skygauge supplies equipment, training and deployment support and has placed systems with industrial and naval inspection teams.

  • Skygauge completes naval-vessel corrosion-repair trials

    2026-04-01 - Demonstration - Testing completed in May 2025 after validating bristle blasting, surface cleaning and roller-based coating application. The drone replicated the principal steps of manual spot-corrosion repair while personnel remained on the ground. A follow-on phase began to test repeatability against Royal Canadian Navy coating standards.

  • Skygauge integrates MontiPower Bristle Blaster for aerial surface preparation

    2026-03-16 - Capability - The drone automatically maintains contact force while the payload removes spot rust and creates a coating anchor profile. Operators can replace the blasting tool with Skygauge coating payloads to seal the prepared area. Skygauge said the configuration had operated under a Canadian Navy contract and with inspection service providers.

  • Cyberhawk becomes global Skygauge UT inspection service provider

    2025-11-03 - Partnership - Cyberhawk became a global service provider for Skygauge ultrasonic-thickness inspections. Captured thickness data is integrated into Cyberhawk's iHawk asset-management platform. Cyberhawk had already deployed Skygauge for a UK nuclear-energy customer when the partnership was announced.

  • Nippon Steel Trading becomes exclusive Skygauge distributor in Japan

    2025-10-22 - Partnership - The agreement expands Skygauge industrial inspection access in Japan. Nippon Steel Technology was also named in the inspection-service channel. The partnership connects Nippon Steel Trading to a customer, supplier or channel for inspection, monitoring or infrastructure automation workflows.

    2023-06-05 - Product Launch - The commercial release followed a three-month Transport Canada testing programme. The thrust-vectoring aircraft maintains contact with surfaces for ultrasonic thickness measurements. Skygauge offered the system for industrial assets including tanks, pipes and ship structures.
