About TSUNAMI

Textron Systems’ TSUNAMI is a family of small autonomous surface vessels that combines Textron autonomy with Brunswick commercial hulls, propulsion and manufacturing. Five current vessel variants run from 21 feet 4 inches to 42 feet 6 inches. Published payload capacities span 2,800 to 5,200 pounds, with top speeds above 40 or 50 knots depending on the hull.

The TSUNAMI 21, 25, 33, 38 and 42 use different engine counts, power levels, ranges and deck capacities, so family values remain tied to each configuration. Textron also offers uncrewed engine kits for integrating its autonomy software and propulsion controls into compatible third-party craft. Named vessel missions include offshore counter-narcotics, search and rescue, intelligence and surveillance, supported by a modular open-systems architecture and mission-specific payloads.

  • Textron Systems wins DIU contract to provide TSUNAMI USVs to SOUTHCOM and U.S. Navy Fourth Fleet

    2026-04-30 - Contract Award - Textron Systems received a Defense Innovation Unit contract to produce and deliver multiple TSUNAMI uncrewed surface vessels. The USVs will support the U.S. Navy Fleet Experimentation exercise in Key West, Florida and three months of joint operations with SOUTHCOM and U.S. Navy Fourth Fleet. Textron will provide long-dwell TSUNAMI interceptor USVs and field service representatives, demonstrating cooperative ISR-T with its Aerosonde 4.7 VTOL UAS from a Littoral Combat Ship.
