WanderB-FC
About
About WanderB-FC
WanderB-FC is BlueBird Aero Systems’ hydrogen fuel-cell configuration of the WanderB-VTOL mini unmanned aircraft. It combines vertical launch and recovery with fixed-wing cruise, using a proton-exchange-membrane fuel cell developed by H3 Dynamics and a backup battery. BlueBird reported flight testing beyond six continuous hours, with an 18 kg maximum take-off weight,1.5 kg payload capacity and 16,000 ft flight ceiling.
The fuel cell supplies continuous electrical power while the battery supports additional demand and emergency operation. The manufacturer describes a maintenance interval of up to 1,000 operating hours for the fuel-cell power source. Existing WanderB customers can upgrade their systems with this power option. The configuration is offered for persistent surveillance, mapping and other military or civilian missions through direct customer enquiry; its launch testing does not establish a separately disclosed customer fleet size.
