About Hocheng Corporation
Hocheng Corporation’s industrial technology work extends beyond its sanitary-ware business into composite manufacturing. Its annual report records a 2009 programme to develop lightweight sandwich structures for unmanned aircraft, including integrated beams, ribs and control surfaces. The project brought together design, analysis, manufacture, assembly and verification of the structural components.
A separate programme in the same period addressed composite tapered shells, including preforming, hot pressing and bonding composite shells to metal rings. These projects establish a historical link between the company’s materials-processing capability and aerospace structures. The work focused on structural components and the production techniques needed to join, shape and verify them for aerospace use.

Hocheng was reported to be working with AIDC on composite UAV structural-material design and development. Hocheng and Thunder Tiger jointly developed a drone using a composite body. Thunder Tiger stated that the composite structure had entered mass-production shipments,while no quantity was disclosed.
