AutoStore stores inventory in vertically stacked bins inside an aluminium grid, with independently controlled robots travelling on rails above it to retrieve and return the required containers. A Controller running CubeControl manages robot traffic, task execution and the inventory database, while bins arrive at Ports for picking, replenishment, packing or transfer into downstream fulfilment systems.

The five-module architecture lets operators expand capacity by extending the grid or adding robots, bins and workstations. Ports range from ergonomic goods-to-person stations to CarouselAI and VersaAI robotic picking configurations for increasingly autonomous operation. CubeAnalytics monitors system status and module performance. AutoStore reported 99.7% worldwide uptime and 99.9% picking accuracy for 2025, with an average installation using roughly 45 robots, 40,000 bins and ten Ports.
