About Ava Ocean

Ava Ocean's harvesting system identifies bottom-dwelling species and selectively collects them through a precision subsea tool close to the seabed. Cameras and sensors give operators a live view of the habitat and harvested resource while the equipment works close to the bottom.

The operation is carried out from specialised vessels and produces environmental data alongside the catch. Ava Ocean developed the method with Norwegian research institutions to reopen access to shellfish and other seabed resources while preserving surrounding habitat and reducing reliance on traditional bottom trawling.
