NetworkOcean develops both floating data-centre barges and submerged data-centre capsules. The systems use direct access to seawater for heat rejection, reducing the cooling power and freshwater infrastructure associated with land-based facilities while supporting high-density GPU racks close to coastal power and network connections.
The company builds and operates the infrastructure and offers colocation, dedicated capacity and reservable compute rather than selling only an enclosure design. Floating installations are intended to scale beyond 200 megawatts, while underwater capsules provide smaller modular deployments. NetworkOcean states that sites can be deployed in approximately four months with zero operational water consumption.

- 2024-08-15 - Product Launch - NetworkOcean launches underwater data-centre service
NetworkOcean said seawater cooling could reduce power consumption while eliminating data-centre water use. The launch showed a 0.5 MW capsule being prepared for testing in San Francisco Bay. The company offered 2,048 H100 GPUs for reservation as part of the launch.
