About Intermodalics
Intermodalics develops software for robots and autonomous machines, from early research prototypes through production systems. Its engineers work on visual SLAM, localisation, mapping, navigation, calibration, motion planning, control and perception across ROS-based and custom architectures.
The company supplies reusable software components, technical consulting and full product-development teams. Projects include mobile robots, manipulators and sensing systems that must operate reliably outside controlled laboratories. Intermodalics also contributes to open robotics tooling and helps customers establish testing, deployment and maintenance practices around complex autonomy stacks.

The tool intercepts ROS 1 publish and subscribe calls and exposes them in both ROS 1 and ROS 2 without a separate bridge server. Intermodalics said it had already used the software internally for two years before releasing it to the community. The initial release supported C++ nodes and custom message conversions, while Python nodes and parameter-server migration remained outside its scope.
