Tencent develops internet, cloud and AI services and conducts robotics research through Robotics X. Established in Shenzhen in 2018, the lab works on mechatronics, perception and control to connect virtual intelligence with physical machines.
Robotics X projects include mobile manipulation and assistive robots such as The Five, a wheeled-legged system with tactile skin and dexterous hands explored for elder-care tasks. These are research and applied-development programmes; they do not establish a broad commercial Tencent robot catalogue.
