About Kalam Labs
Kalam Labs develops aircraft and deployment systems for stratospheric defence missions. Its hydrogen lighter-than-air carrier releases unmanned aircraft at near-space altitudes, supported by an in-house flight controller and firmware designed for low pressure, icing temperatures and rapidly changing winds.
Current platforms include an EO/IR surveillance UAV, a retrievable radiosonde and an autonomous one-way aircraft designed for high-altitude release. The company manufactures airframes in Lucknow and has demonstrated systems with the Indian Army across mountain and desert environments. Longer-term programmes cover a persistent hydrogen-and-solar airship and a ramjet-powered supersonic vehicle; those remain development projects.
