About Buoyant Aero

Buoyant Aero's aircraft use helium lift to remain airborne with far less continuous propulsion than a heavier-than-air drone. Electric motors steer and position the blimp while the large envelope carries an illuminated or printed advertising surface visible across an event area.

Autonomous navigation and geofencing keep the vehicle within its operating zone, and the low-speed, low-noise platform is suited to stadiums, festivals and outdoor brand activations. The company provides the aircraft and operating service for each campaign, including deployment and flight management.

  • 2021-08-27 - Capability - Buoyant discloses four flown cargo-airship prototypes

The latest subscale prototype was 20 feet long, reached up to 35 miles per hour and carried a 10-pound payload. Buoyant's hybrid architecture generated about 70 percent of lift from helium and the remainder from tilt rotors used during takeoff and landing. The company targeted a 60-foot autonomous vehicle carrying up to 650 pounds and reported $5 million in customer letters of intent.
