Robotics 88’s aircraft fly beneath the tree canopy, where satellite navigation and clear flight paths are limited. Onboard autonomy allows the drone to move through vegetation while collecting measurements of fuel load, live fuel moisture and local forest conditions before a prescribed burn begins.
Repeated flights can map fire behaviour during the operation and inspect the area afterwards for residual heat and unburned fuel. The resulting data gives burn managers a more detailed picture of conditions below the canopy, supporting planning, active monitoring and mop-up without sending personnel into every part of the burn area.
