Stratus combines forecasting and nowcasting with radar, satellite and atmospheric observations to identify cloud-seeding windows and plan Rainmaker missions. Elijah aircraft then carry onboard sensors and aerosol-dispersal hardware into suitable clouds, while downstream measurement compares radar signatures and precipitation estimates against the planned intervention.
Rainmaker designs, manufactures and operates this integrated stack from El Segundo. During an August 2026 validation campaign on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, seven coordinated Elijah missions were flown over three hours and were associated with seven radar signatures. The campaign estimated a mean 57.6 acre-feet of precipitation across the observed responses.
