About Seed Robotics
Seed Robotics develops anthropomorphic robot hands, compact manipulators and tactile force sensors for research and humanoid platforms. The adult-sized RH8D hand has 19 degrees of freedom, eight internal smart actuators, an opposable thumb and a spherical wrist. Its underactuated three-segment fingers conform to object shapes while reporting actuator position, speed, current, temperature and load state.
RH5D and RH7D provide smaller hand configurations, while RH4D and RH2D address simpler manipulation tasks. Optional FTS sensors measure fingertip contact force at one-millinewton resolution; the three-axis version also captures shear. RH8D includes a palm time-of-flight distance sensor and can add capacitive touch areas for interaction studies. Developers control the products through ROS packages, Python, serial protocols or USB configuration, with URDF and CAD resources available for simulation and integration. Seed sells left- and right-hand variants, sensors and mounting hardware directly to universities, laboratories and robot developers.
