About Traverse Aero

Traverse Aero is developing Orca, an autonomous hybrid-electric vertical-take-off cargo aircraft for logistics where runways or conventional delivery networks are unavailable. The aircraft uses a pallet-sized cargo system and is designed to carry up to 550 pounds over missions reaching about 600 miles, with vertical launch and recovery at the destination.

Orca combines electric lift with a fuel-powered cruise system that can use aviation and military fuels, supporting remote resupply, disaster response and regional freight movement. Mission software handles autonomous flight and fleet operation, while the cargo interface is intended to shorten ground handling. Traverse has advanced the programme through US Air Force AFWERX work and a commercial agreement with UrbanLink covering up to 40 aircraft.
