About Vilje Bionics
Vilje Bionics develops VilPower, a powered orthosis that assists movement through the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. The wearable recognises a user's intended movement without invasive sensors and adds motorised support, including help with opening and closing the hand. Each unit is individually fitted for people with reduced arm function, including users affected by stroke or other neurological injury and those with hand spasticity.
VilPower weighs 1.9 kilograms and is intended to support everyday activities across the full arm instead of training a single joint in a clinic. Development combines robotics engineering with input from users, orthopaedic professionals and rehabilitation specialists. The device remains in pre-commercial introduction: Vilje presents demonstration units and plans delivery as a personalised orthopaedic aid, with its current programme focused on product refinement, usability and risk reduction.
