About Vulcan Elements
Vulcan Elements operates a 21,000-square-foot small-scale commercial manufacturing and research facility in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park. The site produces high-performance sintered neodymium-iron-boron magnets and supports powder processing, pressing, heat treatment, machining, coating and magnetic testing within a domestic production chain.
The company raised a $65 million Series A in August 2025 and has announced a broader U.S. rare-earth magnet expansion programme with ReElement Technologies. ReElement supplies separated rare-earth oxides into Vulcan’s magnet production, while Vulcan has separately been selected to supply NdFeB magnets for motors in the U.S. Army SkyFoundry drone initiative.

Events
- 2025-11-03 - Partnership - Vulcan announces $1.4B U.S. magnet expansion partnership
The programme includes planned capacity for 10,000 tonnes of permanent magnets per year. The investment combines upstream separated-oxide supply with downstream magnet production. The stated scale is planned capacity and not current annual output.
Source - 2025-08-26 - Partnership - Energy Fuels and Vulcan agree rare-earth oxide validation supply
The initial validation quantities were scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. The supplied oxides are sourced from U.S. mines and refined at Energy Fuels White Mesa Mill in Utah. The companies intend to negotiate long-term supply agreements after Vulcan completes validation.
Source - 2025-08-19 - Partnership - Vulcan and ReElement sign rare-earth oxide offtake agreement
ReElement supplies separated rare-earth oxides for Vulcan’s NdFeB magnet manufacturing. The agreement connects upstream recycling and refining with downstream permanent-magnet production. The companies described the arrangement as a domestic mine-to-magnet supply-chain step.
Source - 2025-08-11 - Funding - Vulcan Elements closes Series A for magnet manufacturing expansion
One Investment Management participated alongside Altimeter Capital. The financing supports manufacturing scale-up and expansion of the company’s U.S. workforce. Vulcan was already producing high-performance rare-earth magnets at its Research Triangle Park facility.
Source - 2025-03-31 - Facility Opening - Vulcan Elements opens North Carolina magnet manufacturing facility
The facility supports sintered NdFeB magnet production from powder processing through coating and testing. The site combines commercial output with process and product development work. The opening established an operating U.S. production base ahead of a larger planned expansion.
