AUBO i5

About

About AUBO i5

AUBO i5 is a six-axis collaborative arm with a five-kilogram payload and 886.5-millimetre reach. Its compact body supports welding, machine tending, cutting, palletising, assembly and material-handling cells where the robot works near people under an assessed safety configuration.

The open SDK supports C, C++, C#, Lua and Python. TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and ROS interfaces connect the arm with grippers, vision systems and production equipment. AUBO supplies application kits, controllers and integration support through its partner network.

Research

  • On Flange-based 3D Hand-Eye Calibration for Soft Robotic Tactile Welding

2024-07-22 - Research Publication - The method derives calibration features directly from standardized robot-flange geometry captured by 3D scanners. Experiments include AUBO i5 alongside UR5, UR10 e-series and Franka Emika arms using industrial and commercial 3D cameras. The study reports convergence below 0.28 mm translation and 0.25 degrees rotation, then demonstrates real-time tactile welding seam tracking.

  • Incrementally Stochastic and Accelerated Gradient Information mixed Optimization for Manipulator Motion Planning

2021-08-21 - Research Publication - The paper introduces iSAGO, which combines stochastic optimization, accelerated gradients and Bayes-tree incremental inference for manipulator planning. Researchers ran twelve physical AUBO i5 experiments at a storage shelf, including six difficult collision-avoidance tasks. The reported comparison found the method achieved the highest success rate with moderate solution time against five reference planners.

  • A Multi-Objective Trajectory Planning Method for Collaborative Robot

2020-05-22 - Research Publication - The researchers built the kinematic model from the physical AUBO i5's six-joint geometry and constraints. Their planner jointly optimizes execution time, energy use and motion impact instead of treating trajectory duration as the only objective. Simulation and robot experiments compare the proposed trajectory against conventional planning results on the named AUBO platform.
