Scrap Metal Bale Palletizing Cell
About
About Scrap Metal Bale Palletizing Cell
Bastian Solutions’ Scrap Metal Bale Palletizing Cell is a robotic system for arranging compressed scrap-metal bales into pallet loads. Its defining element is a custom end-of-arm tool designed to handle a wide range of bale sizes, giving the robot a secure handling interface for products that are heavy, irregular and difficult to move repeatedly by hand.
The cell transfers incoming bales into a repeatable stacking pattern and builds the pallet without requiring an operator to perform each lift. Bastian presents the application as a way to improve ergonomics, efficiency and productivity in scrap-handling operations. The same palletizing architecture can be integrated with infeed and discharge conveyors, safety guarding and downstream pallet transport, while the gripper and load pattern remain engineered around the customer’s actual bale dimensions and facility layout.
