Figure 02

About

About Figure 02

Figure 02 is Figure AI's second-generation humanoid robot, used for industrial manipulation and the company's early Helix development. At BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, it picked sheet-metal components from racks or bins and placed them on welding fixtures for an active automotive assembly line. The work combined walking, hand-eye coordination and repeated accurate placement within a factory production cycle.

Figure reported more than 1,250 operating hours and 90,000 parts loaded during the 2025 BMW deployment, contributing to production of over 30,000 vehicles. The company began retiring Figure 02 in November 2025 after introducing Figure 03. By September 2026 most of the Figure 02 fleet had been decommissioned, with a small number retained in storage. Its factory results and early household and logistics demonstrations form part of Figure's historical second-generation programme.
